Dr Stephen J Williams – Rosemont

Dr Williams current clinical practice includes all aspects of gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy with particular interest in the endoscopic management of large colonic polyps as well as biliary and pancreatic disease and the role of endoscopy in the diagnoses and therapy of these conditions.

Dr Williams has a long-term commitment to the training of gastroenterology at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as training registrars and fellows in the art and science of endoscopy. Dr Williams has been working at Rosemont Endoscopy Centre for a number of years and also holds a VMO position at Westmead Hospital and the Southern Highlands Private Hospital.

Dr Kendall Williams

Dr Kendall Williams completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2007 and a Masters of Public Health at the University of Sydney in 2015. Kendall has worked in Wollongong, Sydney and at the Gold Coast and joined the team at Rosemont Endoscopy Centre in 2017.

Kendall has a special interest in Hepatology, General Gastroenterology and Bowel Cancer Screening and offers both consulting and procedural services in Wollongong.

Dr Hadi Moattar

Dr Moattar completed his Medical Degree in 2004 and since then has worked in the UK, Queensland and Western Australia. Dr Moattar enjoys teaching students and junior doctors and is actively participating in quality assurance and audits. Dr Moattar has a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Luminal Endoscopy and Polypectomy.

Dr Moattar offers regular consulting and procedural lists from our North Lakes Day Hospital.

Dr Cliona Maguire

Dr Maguire has been a Gastroenterologist for over 20 years, and is known for her honest, down-to-earth and practice approach to patient care.

Qualifications

Originally from Ireland, Dr Maguire gained her medical qualifications at the University College in Dublin in 1988 prior to commencing her Gastroenterology training in Dublin in 1992. She did her clinical research in the field of Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary before immigrating to Australia in 1996.

Dr Maguire worked at the Liver Transplant Unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) followed by the Mater Adult Hospital before qualifying as a Gastroenterologist in 1999, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Dr Maguire treats each patient as an individual and uses her expertise to help resolve patients’ particular issues. Dr Maguire likes to make colonoscopy preparation as easy as possible for patients, which they appreciate. Outside of work, Dr Maguire likes to keep fit by cycling, running, playing tennis and swimming.

Open Access Endoscopy within 14 Days 

Dr Maguire is one of Montserrat’s leading Open Access Gastroenterologists, supporting patients to bypass long wait times and have their digestive issues investigated promptly. Under the Open Access Program, qualifying patients can undergo high-quality endoscopy, usually within 14 days of booking. The program facilitates early diagnosis and triages patients who have positive test results from Australia’s National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.

Dr Maguire partakes in continuing professional development and accreditation, including regular medical meetings with her peers, in addition to volunteering as a Gastroenterologist with ANZGIA in the Solomon Islands in 2024.

Dr Katerina Liew

Katerina Liew is a Gastroenterologist who believes in supporting patients through their health journey to achieve positive results for life.

After graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2004, she completed General Practice training in Victoria (FRACGP) in 2009. Due to a keen interest in digestive health, she undertook training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Gold Coast University Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Mater Hospital. She is actively involved in continuing medical education and teaching junior doctors.

Dr. Liew sees patients for all areas of gastroenterology, with a special interest in hepatology, functional digestive disorders and quality upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Liew will be commencing practice at Indooroopilly Day Hospital offering consulting and procedural services for both Open Access and Private patients.

Dr Mark Norrie

Dr Norrie graduated with MBChB in 1988 and has completed a PhD at the University of New South Wales in Molecular Biology, looking at gene methylation in colorectal biology carcinoma. He is also trained in the provision of small bowel capsule endoscopy.

Dr Norrie commenced at Montserrat in 2003 and provides consultation and procedure offerings at Indooroopilly Day Hospital as well as rural lists in Emerald and Longreach. Dr Norrie also continues to practice in the public health system.

His special interests include:

Dr Rebecca Ryan

Dr Ryan is a General Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. She graduated from Flinders University of South Australia in 1998 and completed her advanced training in Gastroenterology in Adelaide and Brisbane. Her final years of training (including a clinical fellowship year) were at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital.

Dr Ryan has been working as a staff specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, as well as in private practice since 2007. She joined Montserrat in 2012, and does procedure and consulting from both our Indooroopilly and Samford Road locations.

Dr Terrence Tan

Dr Tan graduated from the University of NSW in Sydney with his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He then went on to further training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Perth, where he explored his interest in patients with chronic hepatobiliary disorders and liver failure, as well as aiding with the teaching of younger physicians.

Dr Tan commenced with Montserrat in 2013 and offers consultations and procedures from Indooroopilly & Ipswich.
